About this meeting
Ever wanted to explore a magical world, battle monsters, uncover mysteries, and become someone entirely new? Welcome to The Fractured Veil, a beginner-friendly Dungeons & Dragons campaign where fantasy adventure meets connection, creativity, and personal growth. In the world of Aeloria, something strange is happening. Memories are disappearing, emotions are taking physical form, and the magical barrier separating reality from the unknown is beginning to fracture. What happens next will depend on the choices you and your fellow adventurers make. I'll serve as the Dungeon Master and guide the group through an ongoing story where players can explore things like fear, trust, boundaries, identity, grief, coping, relationships, confidence, teamwork, and recovery through their characters and the choices they make. But make no mistake, this is still D&D first! Expect quests, roleplay, combat, strange NPCs, questionable decisions, dice betrayal, and the occasional plan that absolutely should not work but somehow does. The mental health component will be woven naturally into the story rather than turning the game into therapy. Characters may face situations involving asking for help, working through conflict, rebuilding trust, managing fear, making difficult choices, or learning that strength does not always mean handling everything alone. Through collaborative storytelling, we'll have opportunities to explore different perspectives, develop connections, practice problem-solving, and discover what our characters (and maybe even ourselves) are capable of. Our First Meeting: Session 0! Before our adventure officially begins, we'll come together to meet our fellow adventurers, create our characters, and prepare for the journey ahead. During Session 0, we'll: Meet Your Party: Introduce ourselves, break the ice, and get comfortable with our fellow adventurers. Learn the Basics: Explore how Dungeons & Dragons works, including roleplay, dice rolls, combat, and collaborative storytelling. Create Your Character: Choose your character's species, class, abilities, personality, and backstory. Will you be a courageous warrior, a mischievous rogue, a powerful spellcaster, or something entirely different? Explore the World: Get a sneak peek at Aeloria, the mysterious Veil, and the adventures waiting beyond it. Discuss Campaign Expectations: Learn how our weekly sessions will work, what kinds of challenges to expect, and how your decisions can shape the story. Establish Boundaries: Work together to create a respectful, accessible, and comfortable space where everyone has the opportunity to participate. Prepare for Adventure: Ask questions, explore character connections, and get ready for our first official quest! No Experience Necessary! Whether you've been playing D&D for years or have absolutely no idea what a Dungeon Master does, you're welcome here. You don't need to be an actor, have a character voice, own fancy dice, or memorize a rulebook. You don't even have to be comfortable speaking all the time. Creativity, curiosity, and a willingness to collaborate are all you need. This group is designed to be welcoming to people who experience anxiety, neurodivergence, mental health challenges, or difficulty connecting in traditional social environments. Participation is encouraged, but nobody will be pressured to disclose personal experiences or engage in roleplay that makes them uncomfortable. This is a recreational, peer-support-informed D&D campaign, not group therapy. The goal is to enjoy an immersive fantasy adventure while creating opportunities for connection, self-expression, and meaningful character development. Whether you're here to make friends, explore a new hobby, escape into another world for a couple of hours, or discover something about yourself through storytelling, there's a place for you at the table. Come as you are. Leave as an adventurer. Your story is waiting to be written. All that's missing is you.

About the host
My name is Cassian, and I am a Certified Peer Specialist with lived experience navigating complex mental health challenges and building a life that feels stable, meaningful, and worth living. A major focus of my peer-support work is helping people who live with Cluster B disorders or traits, especially BPD attachment patterns, favorite-person dynamics, fear of abandonment, splitting, emotional intensity, and relationship instability. I understand how these experiences can affect your sense of safety, identity, and connection with others. I believe in accountability without shame and in helping people recognize harmful patterns without reducing themselves to those patterns. I am also especially interested in supporting people with OCD, including harm OCD and pedophilia-themed OCD. I understand how frightening, isolating, and shame-filled taboo intrusive thoughts can be, particularly when people confuse unwanted thoughts with intent or character. My goal is to offer a nonjudgmental space where people can talk honestly about their experiences without being treated as dangerous or immoral. I also have lived experience with chronic illness, disability, LGBTQIA+ identity, and polyamorous or ethically non-monogamous relationships. I identify as a queer, pansexual trans man. Psychology is one of my special interests, so I bring both personal experience and extensive self-education to my work while remaining clear that peer support is not therapy or diagnosis. I am passionate, direct, and compassionate. I want people to feel understood without being enabled, supported without being controlled, and reminded that healing does not require becoming perfect.
Motivation for help
I spent years feeling alone, misunderstood, and unheard. The people around me often could not relate, while professionals sometimes treated me like they knew my mind better than I did. That made an already difficult life even harder. Now that I have built a life that feels stable, meaningful, and worth living, I want to be the kind of support I needed then: someone who listens, respects your lived experience, and helps you move toward the life that matters to you.
