About this meeting
Looking for somewhere to wear your costume without needing a big party, crowded event, or complicated social plan? This is a relaxed Halloween peer hangout for people who want to celebrate, dress up, talk, laugh, and be part of the holiday in a way that feels a little easier. Holidays can be fun, but they can also be overwhelming. Social anxiety, panic, depression, sensory overload, burnout, difficulty leaving the house, or just not feeling comfortable in traditional party settings can make it hard to participate in things you actually want to enjoy. This group is meant to be another option. Costumes are strongly encouraged, but absolutely not required. You can go all out, wear something simple, do spooky makeup, throw on cat ears, show up in pajamas, or skip the costume completely. We’ll keep things relaxed and low pressure. Activities may include: - Costume show-and-tell - “Guess the costume” - Spooky would-you-rather questions - Halloween trivia - Favorite horror movie debates - Weird Halloween facts - Sharing spooky interests, special interests, or random knowledge - Optional mini costume awards like “most creative,” “most chaotic,” or “best use of things already in the house” You do not have to be good at small talk. You do not have to talk constantly. You do not have to stay the whole time. You are welcome to come late, leave early, step away, participate through chat, or simply listen for a while. This space is for anyone who wants to engage in Halloween activities but finds that anxiety, neurodivergence, depression, sensory needs, or other mental health concerns can get in the way of traditional celebrations. The goal is simple: to have somewhere fun, welcoming, and low pressure to spend part of Halloween with other people. Come dressed up, half dressed up, or not dressed up at all. Costumes encouraged. Pressure not included.

About the host
My name is Cassian, and I am a Certified Peer Specialist with lived experience navigating complex mental health challenges and building a life that feels stable, meaningful, and worth living. A major focus of my peer-support work is helping people who live with Cluster B disorders or traits, especially BPD attachment patterns, favorite-person dynamics, fear of abandonment, splitting, emotional intensity, and relationship instability. I understand how these experiences can affect your sense of safety, identity, and connection with others. I believe in accountability without shame and in helping people recognize harmful patterns without reducing themselves to those patterns. I am also especially interested in supporting people with OCD, including harm OCD and pedophilia-themed OCD. I understand how frightening, isolating, and shame-filled taboo intrusive thoughts can be, particularly when people confuse unwanted thoughts with intent or character. My goal is to offer a nonjudgmental space where people can talk honestly about their experiences without being treated as dangerous or immoral. I also have lived experience with chronic illness, disability, LGBTQIA+ identity, and polyamorous or ethically non-monogamous relationships. I identify as a queer, pansexual trans man. Psychology is one of my special interests, so I bring both personal experience and extensive self-education to my work while remaining clear that peer support is not therapy or diagnosis. I am passionate, direct, and compassionate. I want people to feel understood without being enabled, supported without being controlled, and reminded that healing does not require becoming perfect.
Motivation for help
I spent years feeling alone, misunderstood, and unheard. The people around me often could not relate, while professionals sometimes treated me like they knew my mind better than I did. That made an already difficult life even harder. Now that I have built a life that feels stable, meaningful, and worth living, I want to be the kind of support I needed then: someone who listens, respects your lived experience, and helps you move toward the life that matters to you.
