About the host
Sara is 31, lives near Annapolis, Maryland and has been living with Type 1 Narcolepsy for 7 years. She played Division 1 basketball (at the George Washington University) and completed her masters of public health. She now works in full time sports ministry with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Sara and her husband Josiah started the journey of preconception planning last year and she has found critical support through the Wake Up Narcolepsy, pregnancy and parenting with narcolepsy virtual support group. Sara continued an effective mono-therapy treatment throughout pregnancy and her son Isaac was born in August 2021. She's passionate about helping other women navigating the uncertain and difficult waters of pregnancy with narcolepsy and now co-facilitates the peer support group that helped her so much. Fun fact: In the year 2020 - engaged, married, moved, transitioned roles with job and got pregnant with first child.
