About this meeting
The LGBTQIA+ groups for people with Narcolepsy meets on Fridays and offers a shared space for attendees to bring their most pressing concerns as people living with Narcolepsy who are also part of the LGBTQIA+ community. The group offers a peer-to-peer platform for those struggling with isolation, symptom management, support, health and for those seeking ways to become advocates.

About the host
Tatiana Maria Corbitt is a 24-year old first-generation university graduate living in the White Mountains of Arizona. She earned her M.S. in Applied Biological Sciences from Arizona State University, where she published her undergraduate Barrett, the Honors College thesis investigating the FAA’s research and regulation of insulin-treated diabetic pilots. She is happy to report that a year following the publication of her thesis, the FAA lifted their regulations of insulin-treated diabetic pilots. She continues to be passionate about advocating for equal rights. Tatiana is a passionate artist and writer. Her writing is published regularly by narcolepsy.sleep-disorders.net, a community platform for people with narcolepsy. Tatiana’s favorite hobbies include hiking, kayaking, and anything that requires being in nature with her service dog. She prides herself on being a queer hippy.

Wake Up Narcolepsy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to driving Narcolepsy awareness, education and research toward improved treatments and a cure.

WUN offers free, targeted online support groups to individuals with Narcolepsy and their families, worldwide. Our programs are designed to bring together individuals who have been affected by the diagnosis of Narcolepsy and provide the support and community necessary to thrive. Individuals with Idiopathic Hypersomnia welcome. 

WUN accepts donations to accelerate Narcolepsy reseach. Since inception in 2008, WUN has donated over $1.35 million in research funds to institutions across the US including Stanford University, Harvard, Boston Children's, Northwestern, Vanderbilt and more.
