Certified Peer Supporter
I am a peer facilitator with over a decade of lived experience. I have worked with people living with various mental illnesses, including those hearing voices, recovering from various substances, dealing with personality disorders, coping daily with severe depression and anxiety as well as those who are often coming home from hospitalizations, etc. I have worked primarily with the population of individuals with a severe and persistent mental illness. I am certified by the State of North Carolina as a Peer Support Specialist. I am currently working towards my certification as a North Carolina Family Partner, to support families with individuals under 18 on their recovery journey. Throughout my career I have facilitated a variety of wellness education groups. I have a passion for Mindfulness! Professionally, I have worked on an Assertive Community Treatment Team. Some of my training includes Motivational Interviewing, Suicide Intervention, PTSD awareness, Trauma-Based Care, Wellness Recovery Action Planning, Whole Health Action Management, Illness Management and Recovery and of course Mindfulness! I have a belief that I want to share with everyone I meet and that is “Recovery is Possible”!
