About Kris Mcelroy

Biography

Kris McElroy (pronouns are he/they) is a biracial Black autistic transman living with multiple disabilities and chronic illnesses. He is a Certified Life Coach and has training as a Crisis Support Counselor. Kris has a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a master's degree in Multidisciplinary Human Services. Kris is living well with various mental health conditions & trauma taking it one day at a time while working as a freelance writer, advocate, and artist. He enjoys being a dad & husband.

My recovery has been a 20-year journey of ups and downs, twists and turns, and baby steps and big leaps that are all a part of my story and have led to where I am today.

My Motivation To Help

Getting help as a trauma survivor changed my life and allows me to live each day to the fullest and be the person and dad I want to be - a healthy and authentic version of myself.
