The Creativity and Chronic Illness Support Group is a peer support group which offers the opportunity to use creative strategies for coping with chronic illness. The group meets weekly on Sundays from 10-11:30am PST / 1-2:30pm EST and is facilitated by art therapist, Mage Carr. *If you register and then cannot attend, please remove your registration to free up the space for another participant.

Mage helps provide a safe environment to share your weekly struggles. I can feel the support and the effort to make space for everyone to connect with their creative self.

Mage’s group is unlike any other art therapy group I’ve ever attended and I look forward to being here in community with them and my peers because they’re all such a blessing to me (and one another) because of the mutual respect, understanding and compassion that we all show each other as we both celebrate and support one another throughout the triumphs and challenges each week; which is exemplified through Mage’s leadership😇💕

It was difficult to sit through the triggers, but I try pushing through because I really love the "regular" attendees who put their heart and soul into ensuring that safety & support is paramount for everyone present. Days like today make that incredibly difficult; and this usually happens whenever certain members join for purposes other than art, take share time away from art, or disrupt the positive flow of energy discussing triggering topics that might be more appropriate to discuss in therapy. I love this group and I'm glad that this isn't the norm. Thanks Mage for being such a wonderful group leader<3
