Ben is a great leader he is understanding, respectful, along with he cares about all of us in the group. It would be very important to keep the musical recovery group going.

Good group

Ben does a great job managing the group within the time-constraints. I understand there is a mandatory check-in and have no issue with how long it takes. I find the articles Ben shares very informative and helpful. A member said she needed more support and Ben told her she could raise her hand at the beginning of the group to make sure she gets enough time. It’s not Ben’s fault she was unable to share at the beginning of the group. Ben is very open to feedback. If the group time is extended, it may conflict with other groups that start at the beginning of the hour. I think an hour is enough time. If certain members need to stay longer maybe some accommodation could be made to extend the group for 15 minutes for some and allow those who need to attend other groups to leave. Not everyone wants to talk at every group and this allows members who need more support to share.

As always, grateful that we now have a space in which to openly discuss suicidal ideation and suicide attempts.

As always, grateful to Ben, Carlo, and Gloria for creating and now jointly facilitating this group. With Ben absent today, Gloria stepped up and led fearlessly.

Project Return Peer Support Network

PRPSN offers peer-to-peer support to help individuals reach their personal goals, such as living independently, going to school, getting a job, having friends and enjoying life in the community, and advancing in their recovery. Each group is individualized and self-directed. Activities and curricula are created by the facilitators and group participants. While some groups direct conversations on specific recovery-based discussions, others focus on physical wellness and its connection to mental wellness, building socialization skills, and the exploration of varying coping methods ranging from arts and music to writing and much, much more!
