About the host
Hello everyone! I'm a 37-year-old husband and father, as well as a proud Air Force veteran who served from 2005 to 2009. Originally from the beautiful mountains of West Virginia, I have a deep love for nature and the outdoors. Currently, I reside in Greenville, SC, where I've built a life focused on recovery, personal growth, and supporting others through challenging transitions. My passion for sports, particularly baseball, has been a constant throughout my life, and I find fulfillment in coaching and mentoring others in the game. My journey hasn't been without its challenges. I've navigated through a divorce, stemming from my struggles with substance abuse, and experienced periods of separation from my children. These experiences have given me firsthand insight into the complexities of addiction, anxiety, and ADD. Since 2017, I've been in long-term recovery, actively managing severe depressive disorder and anxiety along the way. My experiences have deepened my commitment to helping others, especially those re-entering society after incarceration. I understand the unique struggles faced by individuals transitioning back into the community, and I’m dedicated to providing support and guidance to those navigating this path. Through my work with the re-entry population, I’ve come to appreciate the value of community support and the importance of embracing diverse pathways to recovery. I’m here to share my experiences, offer support, and walk alongside you as we navigate the path to healing and wellness together. Feel free to connect with me if you'd like to learn more or explore ways to embark on your own journey toward a brighter future.
Motivation for help
My motivation to help people in recovery comes from personal experiences and a deep sense of empathy. I've faced challenges myself and understand the journey to sobriety. Seeing others rebuild their lives is incredibly fulfilling for me.

Sam did a good job of leading the group and getting to talk about all of the topics that were raised during the check in. He had good contributions on the topics too.

Good luck as a new facilitator, make sure you get all that you can from all the facilitators as they all have a different style and bring different things to the table.
