I love this group and the facilitators are excellent group leaders. I was personally attacked by another participant, and it’s the first time that I was able to have an open conversation directly with her to express my feelings about how it felt; clearing the air for forgiveness and acceptance. It was my first experience with being hurt by someone and not having to carry that pain. I appreciate the group leaders allowing us to immediately address it, and openly resolve conflict in a safe and healthy way. Thank you Marion & Abamikhu for setting such impeccable standards of leadership 🥰

They did a great job facilitating and making it a comfortable, safe space for conversation! There were very clear guidelines, and everyone was heard without talking over each other or invalidating one another's experience. I highly recommend their leadership.

NAMI Minnesota

NAMI Minnesota champions justice, dignity and respect for all people affected by mental illnesses. Through education, support and advocacy we strive to eliminate the pervasive stigma of mental illnesses, affect positive changes in the mental health system, and increase the public and professional understanding of mental illnesses.

NAMI Minnesota offers many support groups for adults living with mental illnesses and their families. Our free support groups are led by trained volunteers with lived experience. Support groups provide a welcoming, respectful, and safe space to build awareness and understanding while learning from and connecting with others.  The two main populations we serve are adults living with mental illnesses and adults with loved ones who are living with mental illnesses.
